Agent denies Barca offer for Thiago

The agent of Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian defender Thiago Silva has denied there has been an offer for him from Barcelona.

Paulo Tonietto, speaking to French daily L’Equipe, also maintained that the player’s future still remains with the Ligue 1 club.

“Have you seen an offer from Barca? Me neither. If PSG want to sell him then there will be a lot of interested clubs, but it would be a great surprise to me. His future is at PSG,” asserted the agent.

Thiago, 28, joined PSG from Milan for around €50m in July 2012 and Tonietto confessed that the player agreed on a five-year deal knowing that Carlo Ancelotti would be taking over at the Parc des Princes. However, he denied his client would be following Ancelotti – reportedly on Real Madrid’s radar to replace Jose Mourinho – out of the club this summer if the Italian decides to depart the French capital.

“Thiago only signed his contract a year ago and there is no reason for him to leave. It’s true he would be disappointed if Ancelotti left, but life for PSG and Thiago would still continue without Ancelotti,” maintained Tonietto.
