Isco ‘honoured’ by Madrid link

Malaga midfielder Isco has conceded that rumours linking him with a summer move to Real Madrid are flattering.

Stories in recent months have emerged that the young playmaker is likely to leave La Rosaleda at the end of the season, with Los Blancos and Manchester City fighting for his signature.

And the 21-year-old has admitted that being linked with such great clubs is a real honour.

“Madrid are one of the best teams in the world,” he told AS. “There has been a lot of talk about my future, but I am calm.

“The interest of Madrid is an honour though.

“At the moment however, I am just focused on playing well for [Spain] Under-21's.

“I do follow English football. [Manuel] Pellegrini is my footballing father – he gives me confidence.

“I will have to think about City. It will be an important decision, but I will take it in my stride.”
