Fabio Coentrao could see his Real Madrid spell end this summer with an €18m switch to Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.
The Portuguese defender, who last week complained of his reception in Spain, is being increasingly linked with a move out of the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
Otherwise thought to be a makeweight in Madrid’s negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur for Gareth Bale, AS understand today that the 25-year-old could be set for an €18m move to high-spending Monaco.
Coentrao’s representative Jorge Mendes, who has already overseen the cash rich side’s double swoop for Porto’s Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez, is seen as instigating this possible transfer for Coentrao.
The full-back cost Real Madrid €30m in the summer of 2011 when they signed him from Benfica.
