Ancelotti wants Crespo at Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly requested that his assistant Coach at Real Madrid next season will be Hernan Crespo.

The Italian is seen as pushing to leave his Paris Saint-Germain contract this summer in favour of a switch out to the Santiago Bernabeu to replace the departing Jose Mourinho.

A further meeting between Ancelotti and PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi is expected this week, although it may hinge on the outcome of sporting director Leonardo’s disciplinary hearing.

The Brazilian is seen as a possible candidate to replace Ancelotti, but not if he is handed a lengthy ban for pushing an official.

Meanwhile, reports in Italy suggest that Ancelotti is already planning out the structure of his backroom staff and that he plans to include a former player of his in it.

The Coach, who worked with Crespo as a player in the mid-1990s at Parma and then in 2004 whilst at Milan, is understood to be keen to incorporate the now retired 37-year-old at Madrid as his assistant.

The Argentine has been studying for his coaching qualifications since hanging up his boots.

Madrid have been rumoured as keen to hand the role of assistant Coach to Zinedine Zidane.
