Thiago Silva’s agent has reiterated that Barcelona’s hopes of signing the Paris Saint-Germain defender are 12 months too late.
The Brazilian has been linked in recent weeks with a possible move to the Camp Nou, but on from yesterday’s assertion, his representative has once more made clear that a transfer is looking unlikely.
“The year to sign Thiago Silva was the last one, not this one,” Paulo Tonietto has told Mundo Deportivo.
“Barcelona were late then, whilst PSG offered more money to Milan and the player.
“It is now very difficult for Thiago to leave. Firstly because PSG do not want to sell him and secondly because the player receives a very high salary.
“Neither Barca nor PSG have been in touch with us. If the club decided to sell, for me that would be a big surprise.
“[Ancelotti’s possible exit] would mean nothing to Thiago. He has a contract with PSG and there is no clause that says that if Ancelotti goes, he can also go.”
