Wolfsburg midfielder Diego has confirmed that Atletico Madrid are keen to secure his services for next term.
The Brazilian playmaker spent last season on loan with the capital club, winning the Europa League with Diego Simeone's men.
And the 28-year-old has revealed that the Rojiblancos have registered their interest once again.
“Atletico want me and have made an offer,” he told reporters. “Now we just have to sit down and talk.
“I've always liked it in Wolfsburg and I have another year on my contract. We'll have to see what's best for me and the club.”
The German club's sporting director Klaus Allofs insisted though, that Diego would only be sold is an ‘irresistible offer’ came in.
“I don't think there is a club that can pay enough money to see him leave here. We will talk with Diego, but unless the offer is irresistible, we'll pass.”
