Atleti want Falcao meeting ASAP

Atletico Madrid will reportedly meet with Radamel Falcao soon to reach a decision on his continuation at the club.

The Colombian has been linked with a number of clubs over the past year including city rivals Real Madrid, English sides Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United and newly promoted cash rich Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.

Atleti are widely believed to be setting up a meeting with Falcao to assess his options, with this seen also as when the club will put their best possible offer to keep hold of the player for next season on the table.

However, financially it will reportedly fall short of offers a number of those clubs reportedly interested could offer, and the Vicente Calderon outfit reportedly already have it agreed that any offer that meets his €60m will not see the club’s interference.

The newly crowned Copa del Rey winners are apparently keen to meet with Falcao as soon as possible, so as to plan their summer market strategy around the meeting’s outcome.

The Sunday People reported yesterday that Manchester City have come in with an offer to pay the 27-year-old’s buyout clause and present a €10m-a-season contract offer.
