Ancelotti: I want to quit PSG

Carlo Ancelotti has told reporters that he has asked Paris Saint-Germain to release him from his contract, with Real Madrid ‘one option’.

The Italian has been increasingly linked with making the move from Paris to Madrid this summer, amid rumours that Jose Mourinho will be leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.

Following on from a meeting held on Sunday evening with sporting director Leonardo and President Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Ancelotti made clear his intentions.

“We will wait for the response of the club, it will take a few days to decide. My will is to leave the club,” the 53-year-old told reporters.

“My future? There are several possibilities. Real Madrid is one. But I have a one year contract with PSG and I wait for the club’s decision.

“It is not easy because I have a great relationship with everyone at PSG, particularly with the players.

“This is not the right time to explain the reasons and maybe I never will explain.”
