Real Madrid director Emilio Butragueno believes that his side deserved to beat Atletico Madrid on Friday evening.
Los Blancos lost 2-1 to their city rivals after extra time in the final of the Copa del Rey.
And the former striker has insisted that his team were unlucky not to come away with the trophy.
“Atletico have to be congratulated,” he told reporters. “But Real Madrid deserved to win.
“It is the first time in a final that one team has hit the post three times.
“We had seven good opportunities to score, but we could only finish one of them.”
