Bayern, City in for Thiago

Barcelona are reportedly ready to listen to offers this summer for Thiago Alcantara, with Bayern Munich and Manchester City understood to be interested.

The Spain-capped 22-year-old has struggled this term to improve his playing time with Barca and Mundo Deportivo believe that next year Tito Vilanova will prioritise Cesc Fabregas over him once more and that a possible midfield recruitment in the summer could further limit his first-team opportunities.

It is understood that the club are instead ready to listen to offers for the player, who valued at €25m, is also seen as open to a move away in order to progress his career.

Thiago is said to have attracted initial interest already from Bayern and City, with former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola understood to be pushing the Germans’ interest, just as former Barca sporting director Txiki Begiristain is leading City’s inquest.
