Barca book Poland friendly

Barcelona have confirmed today that they will begin their 2013-14 preseason campaign with a friendly in Poland on July 20.

Before meeting former Coach Pep Guardiola’s new team Bayern Munich in Germany on July 24 and then heading out to Oslo on July 27 to face Valarenga, Barca’s European tour this summer will begin with a friendly in Poland.

Director and spokesman Toni Freixa confirmed to reporters today that the Catalans will play the game, although the opponent and location for the game will only be announced in the coming days.

Freixa also confirmed that the club will be installing an under-soil heating system at the Camp Nou this summer at a cost of €530,000.

“We will be changing the turf this summer, as we do every year.

“This year the field hasn’t suffered too much, but the groundsmen think it would be much better if we had one of these heating systems and the pitch is a priority issue for us.”
