Former Barcelona midfielder Phillip Cocu has made his first full-time move into management, signing a four year deal at PSV Eindhoven.
The retired Dutch international midfielder has agreed to step up from assistant Coach at the end of the season to replace Dick Advocaat at the Philips Stadion from 2013-14.
The 42-year-old was temporarily put in charge of the team at the end of last season when Fred Rutten was sacked, but reportedly declined to take the job full time for 2012-13 out of an apparent feeling that it was too early.
However, Cocu, who spent six seasons at the Camp Nou during his playing career, will take charge of the Boeren from the summer.
Meanwhile, former Barca midfielder Mark van Bommel, who retired at the weekend, and former Real Madrid and Malaga striker Ruud van Nistelrooy will both take on coaching roles at the club at youth level.
