Ander Herrera is optimistic at the prospect of working next season at Athletic Bilbao with Valencia Coach Ernesto Valverde.
Valverde is reported as one of the leading contenders to take charge at San Mames next term, on from promising work this season with Los Che.
“Valverde is good, very good. I have seen many games at Valencia, they have moved up many positions in the table,” commented Herrera to reporters this week.
“He is a Coach who is of a very similar style to ours and my colleagues who have met him before rave about him.”
Athletic are still not mathematically clear of relegation this season, after a 1-1 draw against Celta Vigo left them six points clear.
“Winning against Mallorca next weekend will virtually seal our survival. We have played better in recent games, it is time to take advantage of the chances that we have so far failed to take.
“The game will be the difference between having a quiet month and starting to worry with doubts.”
