Resino: It’s all speculation

Celta Vigo Coach Abel Resino has offered his views on reports that Deportivo may have benefited from Levante throwing their mid-April League match.

Celta’s relegation and Galician rivals defeated Los Granotes 4-0 in Week 31, but the Spanish Football League reportedly have an investigation into whether or not some of Levante’s players were paid off to lose the game.

“Right now everything is speculation and talk is adding fuel to the fire, so I will not give my opinion on something that is totally unknown to me,” offered Resino, who had a spell in charge at Levante back in 2006-07.

“This is something that I do not lose time over or that worries me.”

On Resino’s mind is tackling Athletic Bilbao this weekend.

“We are aware that this match is very important because it is in a key moment of the season. I think we need to give more in this game, to go a step further in terms of demand because that is what the opponent requires of you.”
