Pablo: Widen Levante study

Deportivo full-back Manuel Pablo has asserted that Levante’s other ‘suspicious games’ should be examined by authorities.

Levante are reportedly under investigation for allegedly fixing their 4-0 defeat at home to Depor in Week 31.

In making clear his side’s position in the game, Pablo says that other recent results, such as Celta Vigo’s 1-0 win over Los Granotes, must also now come under suspicion.

“I hope that they investigate them all, not just the game with Depor, because we can all suspect the Celta game,” declared the veteran today.

“And now that Levante are facing other teams that are low in the table [Mallorca this weekend, Real Zaragoza next], I hope that the investigation will not just be on this one game [Levante-Depor] but that they are attentive through to the end of the season.

“Barkero’s allegations against his teammates? That same player missed a penalty in the match against Celta. All at Depor have a clear conscience.

“We are six games without defeat and I do not believe that it is a coincidence. Other years there has been suspicion and I hope that, at last, they [Levante] are looked at until the end of the season.”
