Pepe Mel praised Real Betis for their efforts against Deportivo, but rued that they could have won the game.
Los Beticos played out a 1-1 draw at home to relegation strugglers Depor, despite registering 20 attempts at goal.
“We have made a great effort and particularly physically. We have always looked for the win. We’ve made mistakes that have caused us some negatives, but the team has worked very well,” summed up Mel post-match.
“We had many chances to score and I leave with the feeling that we could have won the game. The table is what it is, the game is over and we are where we are.
“We had the ambition of passing the 50-point barrier [Betis sit seventh on 49 points].
“We have made a great effort in this game. We now have to think about the next game.”
