There have been rumours that the Portuguese attacker picked up an injury during Los Blancos' 4-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.
And Jose Mourinho has seen fit to leave the record-breaker on the sidelines for the derby clash on Saturday, although it is unclear whether injury is the reason.
