‘Valencia not inferior to Real’

Dani Parejo has warned weekend opponents Real Sociedad that their slender advantage over Valencia does not make them the better team.

La Real play host on Sunday evening in a meeting between fourth and fifth in La Liga for what is potentially a decider for the final Champions League qualification spot.

The Anoeta outfit hold the position and a two-point lead over Los Che heading into Week 33, but Valencia’s midfielder has warned them against complacency.

“If they are fourth then it is for something and if they are there then it is because they have done better than us in the League,” began Parejo to reporters today.

“But those two extra points should not make them think that they are a better team than Valencia.

“We come into this game off the back of a good week and having offered our best performance against a direct rival [Malaga].

“In our last two away games [Atletico 1-1, Espanyol 3-3] we had chances to win. Things, overall are going in our favour and we are convinced that we will get into the Champions League.

“Do we want revenge for the 5-2 defeat at Mestalla? We will try to do things right and get the three points, that is most important.”
