‘Almost perfect’ from Dortmund

Robert Lewandowski says that Borussia Dortmund’s performance in defeating Real Madrid was ‘almost perfect’, but that they are not in the final yet.

The Polish international bagged all four of the Germans’ goals in their 4-1 win over Los Merengues in the first leg of this Champions League semi-final.

“It was almost perfect. Obviously, I'm delighted because we won 4-1 and it was an outstanding performance, but we're not in the final yet,” warned Lewandowski afterwards.

“We've made great strides tonight, but we need to be alert from the very first minute in Madrid because they're still very dangerous.

“We're a good team and we're not afraid of Real Madrid, but we're going to have to play very well over there.

“As I said, we're not in the final yet and we need to make sure we perform. They want to reach the final too.

“The atmosphere was incredible throughout the match. We played really well in the second half and Real Madrid had no idea how to deal with us.

“We scored three goals and played unbelievably well.

“Real Madrid are going to be dangerous in Madrid, so we need to stay focused. I'm not thinking about the final yet because it's too early for that.

“If we perform well in Madrid, then we can start talking about that.”
