‘Osasuna’s fate in own hands’

Nano has reflected that ‘there are teams that would like to be in Osasuna’s position’ right now, but that they cannot get complacent.

Los Rojillos are sat four points and three places above the relegation zone ahead of a tricky trip out to Rayo Vallecano this Friday evening.

“We know what remains and we have to push soon,” Nano told reporters this week.

“I don’t want to talk of numbers because I do not know the points tally that will be needed to earn survival, but we depend on ourselves.

“If we win in Vallecas then we take an important step.

“Drawing with Real Sociedad last weekend? In the end, after the game, you’re left with the feeling that playing at home against a great rival it is a shame to have not gotten all three points, but I think that it was fair that it was a draw.

“More or less, we are where we were before, but with one game less to play. The table at the bottom is very tight, but there are teams that would like to be in our position.

“We have a four-point cushion but we cannot sleep.

“Our spirits are good. The situation depends on ourselves. A win in Vallecas will do much for us.”
