Osasuna need points says Nano

Winger Nano insists Osasuna need to start picking up points when football resumes next week after the break for internationals.

The Pamplona club has had a disastrous start to the season, losing all three games and sitting bottom of the table, with Nano yet to feature after picking up a groin strain following his summer signing from Numancia.

Nonetheless, he insists he is now fully recovered and is looking forward to helping Jose Luis Mendilibar’s men kick-start their season.

‘I want to get back and help the team as much as possible. From the outside everything looks much easier but it is clear we deserved more from the opening matches.

“The team is competing and training with enthusiasm but we need to start taking points. We have failed to put away our chances at critical moments and have also made some defensive mistakes,” Nano told a Press conference.

While the former Barcelona and Atletico Madrid player wishes he could return to action with an official game this weekend, he also welcomes Friday’s friendly with Real Sociedad at El Sadar.

“It will come in handy, especially for those of us who have not played and will get a chance to catch up,” he explained.

“After that we’ll think about the game against Real Mallorca. We are at home in front of our own fans and that will be an important factor.”
