Tottenham consider Song move

Tottenham Hotspur are believed set to move for Barcelona’s Alex Song in the summer, if they qualify for the Champions League.

The North London outfit are in contention to reach the competition for next season and they will reportedly target Song if they do.

The Cameroon international has endured an indifferent season at the Camp Nou since a summer 2012 move from Arsenal, with the player’s cousin Rigobert Song feeding transfer speculation by declaring that the 25-year-old was unhappy.

The Daily Mail report that Spurs will only move for Song if they reach the Champions League, with any deal otherwise unlikely to be permitted by the club’s board.

Barca are described in this report as keen to recoup as much of the €19m fee they spent on the midfielder last year.
