Fernando Vazquez has tried to calm Deportivo fans expectations, claiming he is 'no messiah'.
The Turcos have been on an exceptional run of late, winning four consecutive games and climbing out of the relegation places.
But the 58-year-old Coach has claimed that hard work will keep them up – starting this Sunday against Athletic Bilbao.
“I am no messiah,” he told a Press conference. “I have never asked the fans to believe in me because I've got a magic wand.
“Messiahs are based on a faith.
“We are methodical, intense, demanding. We are focused on our work.
“We are reaching a dangerous period in the season. The talk is about everything but Athletic.
“For the players and myself it is Athletic, Athletic, Athletic. The team wants to win, and we are focusing purely on that.”
