Diego Simeone has reflected that he is not planning for Radamel Falcao or Diego Costa’s departure from Atletico Madrid this summer.
Falcao has consistently been linked with a move away from Atleti this coming June, whilst Costa’s form of late has prompted rumours of interest elsewhere too.
However, in different ways for each striker, their Coach is not planning for next season with their possible exits in mind.
“I do not see Diego Costa leaving Atletico. He is at an age that is very important in his life and he has to seek stability in the team,” explained Simeone this week.
“And to this day I have no plan to live without Falcao, perhaps because it is the club’s job, but I do not.
“The club handles this very well. Whenever a great player has left, they have chosen another and responded by getting even better.
“Atletico has a history whereby the one who normally wears the No 9 has to be an extraordinary player.
“The best thing that can happen to Falcao is that he is happy, because I love him and he has given me everything.
“He has a man’s respect and he is a man.”
