Victor Valdes’ agent has refused to comment on the current contract situation between the player and Barcelona.
As things stand, the goalkeeper intends to see out his current deal to its June 2014 expiry before moving on, with the English Premier League suggested by Valdes himself as one possible destination.
Speculation continues to suggest that Barca may opt to cash in some value on Valdes and sell him this summer instead, whilst the club have also maintained the hope of still signing the 31-year-old to a new deal.
When asked for an update on the situation, Valdes’ representative declined to clarify.
“What’s new in Valdes’ situation? Out of respect for Victor and for Barca I will not say anything,” responded Gines Carvajal on Radio Marca today.
“It is true that Valdes is playing well, but he has been playing very well for a long time, saving a lot.”
