Eric Abidal has indicated that he is keen to stay at Barcelona, as his contract expires in the summer.
It has been speculated that the Frenchman, who made his playing comeback at the weekend a year on from undergoing a liver transplant, would turn down an anticipation new offer from Barca, in favour of returning to France to continue his playing career.
However, speaking at a book launch today, the defender has reflected that his intention is to stay at the Camp Nou.
“It is down to the club and it is true that my contract ends in June but I have fought to return and I want to keep playing,” Abidal told reporters today.
“I want to finish here, I’m happy here and so is my family. I want to keep playing, but in the future I will decide.”
