Marca understand that Manchester United have stolen a march in negotiations to sign Radamel Falcao this summer.

The Colombian, who is valued at €60m by Atletico Madrid, has once more caught the attention this season with his form and has continually been linked with a summer sale.

However, whilst it has been Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester City generally thought to be the three sides in contention for the 27-year-old’s signature, Marca say that United are interested.

Added to that, it is understood that the Red Devils’ negotiations for the striker are so advanced that they can be described right now as being in the best position to sign him.

United, who signed Robin van Persie last summer from Arsenal and can also boast Wayne Rooney in their ranks, are thought to have agreed a €55m price for Falcao.
