Demichelis: Dortmund are precise

Martin Demichelis has reflected that Malaga’s Champions League opponents Borussia Dortmund are a danger for their precision and philosophy.

The Anchovies are out in Germany today for the second leg of their quarter-final against Dortmund, with the tie balanced at 0-0 from last week’s first leg.

“Borussia isn’t just about one, two or three players,” began Demichelis in his Press conference looking ahead to today’s game.

“They have their own identity and philosophy, and I think they showed last week that they’ll take advantage of any little mistake their rival may make.

“They’ve got two players upfront who combine speed and precision, so we need to be completely focused.

“Borussia are a very ‘complete’ team in every aspect; they work well in set pieces, and have some fantastic individuals. The only way we’ll reach the semi-finals is if we play an amazing match.”

Dortmund are known for the atmosphere their home support can create.

“The stadium will be absolutely packed for this match. I know how much pressure the Borussia fans will put on us, but such an intense atmosphere will help to maintain our complete concentration.”

Demichelis was talking in place of Coach Manuel Pellegrini, who had to fly out to Chile to attend the funeral of his father.

“Manuel didn’t let us know what had happened until after Saturday’s match. We understand that he’ll be here in time for the game, and we hope we can get a great result for him.”
