Adriano in defence for Barca

Adriano is seen as the likely candidate to line up alongside Gerard Pique this week against Paris Saint-Germain in the centre of Barcelona’s defence.

Barca are without Carles Puyol and Javier Mascherano through respective injuries and Coach Tito Vilanova is seen as preferring to use the Brazilian full-back as cover.

However, it is reported that Alex Song is still in contention as an alternative, should Adriano be assessed as not fully fit, after an absence thorugh injury.

Meanwhile, Pedro Rodriguez is also seen as back in contention for a starting spot after his groin injury.

Mundo Deportivo believe that Pedro, Cesc Fabregas and David Villa will form the attacking three against PSG on Wednesday night, if Lionel Messi is not passed fit enough to start.

If the Argentine’s condition is declared as alright, then it may be that Pedro drops to the bench, rather than Fabregas, in response to the latter’s hat-trick at the weekend.
