Pepe and Luka Modric are seen as Real Madrid’s likely candidates to step in for Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonso against Galatasaray.
Ramos and Alonso skip Madrid’s trip out to Turkey for Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg through suspension, after both accumulating yellow cards during the closing stages of the first leg last week.
Reports from training suggest that in their place will be Pepe and Modric, as likely the only two changes to the line-up that won the first leg against Galatasaray 3-0.
It is believed that Mourinho’s only other likely change would be at right-back, but Michael Essien is seen as still edging out Alvaro Arbeloa.
Jose Mourinho has already named a 21-man squad to make the trip out to Istanbul.
