Roura hails ‘special day’

Barcelona assistant Jordi Roura admitted that Saturday's win over Mallorca was 'special' as it saw Eric Abidal's return to competitive action.

The French defender made a late cameo to play his first game for the Blaugrana since a liver transplant in February 2012.

And the Coach has conceded that it was a great moment, whilst also commenting on the performances of Cesc Febregas and Alexis Sanchez, who scored a hat-trick and a brace respectively.

“I would like to highlight the importance of the match this Saturday,” he told a Press conference.

It was a special day. We were able to witness Eric Abidal’s return and, after many days, Tito Vilanova once again sat on the bench at the Camp Nou.

It was a special moment for the whole team. We know that Eric is loved by everyone.

Personally, I’m very happy and pleased.

Cesc adapted his play perfectly to the position of a false 9. He played an extraordinary game.

He’s an additional option that we have.

Forwards live off scoring goals. The fact that Alexis was able to score two and give two assists is important for him and for us.”
