Pellegrini: Real deserve to be fourth

Manuel Pellegrini has conceded that Real Sociedad deserve to be holding fourth in La Liga ahead of Malaga’s League meeting this weekend.

The Anchovies travel out to Anoeta one place and one point below the Basque Country outfit, who currently occupy the fourth and final Champions League qualification spot.

“We’re up against a good team tomorrow who has had a great year,” Pellegrini reflected in his Press conference today.

“However in tomorrow’s match, we’re looking for four points [with acknowledgement to the first round defeat] against a team with a very clear style of play.

“They’re in such a high position in the League table as they’ve won a lot of matches, which doesn’t surprise me as they’ve got some great players.

“It’s important that the Coach’s philosophy and tactics were supported by the directors.”

Pellegrini asserted that Malaga will not be focused on next week’s Champions League quarter-final clash with Borussia Dortmund.

“None of the players are thinking about Tuesday yet, we’re all focused on tomorrow’s match. It’s important that we remain calm and determine the best line-up to secure a win tomorrow.

“The called-up players will only be concentrating on Real Sociedad, not on Tuesday’s game.”

Reports on Friday have suggested that Javier Saviola may be the only player who featured in the midweek draw against Dortmund who will be rested from the matchday squad to face Real this weekend.
