Claude Makelele believes that Paris Saint-Germain’s best features will be brought out in facing Barcelona this week.
PSG host the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against the Catalans as the underdogs, something that their assistant Coach says does not mean that they are without expectancy.
“From the outside people can think that all the pressure is on Barcelona,” reflected former Real Madrid man Makelele to Le Parisien.
“But I can assure that if, unfortunately, we were eliminated, then it would be a huge disappointment.
“But for the players, the staff and the managers, I see no reason to be not be optimistic.
“In Europe, PSG have played well. And, above all, against teams like Barcelona, we raise our game. I hope we do against one of the best teams in the world.
“We are used to not having the ball and having to play quickly on the counter-attack. That’s why the Barca game is for us. I think we can do them some damage.”
