Sami Khedira has reflected on the pressure that Real Madrid face to win the Champions League trophy this season.
The capital club are preparing for Galatasaray in the quarter-final first leg this Wednesday and ahead of that their German midfielder reflected on the expectancy on the team to challenge for La Decima, the 10th European Cup.
“The pressure is always on in Real Madrid. And if you can’t win a title things get rough,” Khedira told UEFA’s official website in an interview released today.
“But we’re used to it, it’s not a problem, it’s more of a motivation than a burden. Personally, I want to win titles – it’s been my goal since I started my career.
“We have an incredibly offensive team, with the best strikers in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo, Ozil, Higuain and Benzema are first-class forwards.
“It’s really important to keep a balance, a solid defence and to not merely give it all on attack.
“I think that one of my duties as a midfielder is to keep proper balance between defence and attack.”
