‘Tito’s return is Barca back to normal’

Andoni Zubizarreta has reflected that Barcelona will be ‘returned to normal’ with the presence of Coach Tito Vilanova this midweek.

The Coach is back with the senior squad after a two-month absence in America receiving treatment for cancer and, alongside Eric Abidal, travels with the team to France for the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

“The team is accustomed to these situations and treat them with fortitude and even elegance, which again is good news,” reflected Zubizarreta to reporters today.

“Tito’s return to the bench is a return to normal. We have experienced a different situation recently. Tito with us is a good sign, no doubt.

“The tasks of the Coach, which are not only to train, will be faced by him as he goes along, at his decision.”

The sporting director was also asked to look ahead to Tuesday evening’s game.

“It is hard, when I say this nobody will believe me, to have both collective and individual quality. We are going to require a lot for this game.

“They have a lot of talent across all the lines and they are experienced, they will not be scared.

“In attack they can decide a game at any moment.”

The retired goalkeeper was asked of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s availability for the game, after having his appeal to reduce his ban in the competition accepted.

“The withdrawal of the punishment against Ibrahimovic will set a precedent. What I care about with this decision is the result. The fact that Ibra will play. I guess that UEFA will now follow the same approach from now on with similar cases…

“Ibrahimovic we already know. He is a great player, who has goals, speed and technical quality. PSG with Ibra is obviously a better team.”
