Paris Saint-Germain’s Lucas Moura is eagerly anticipating Tuesday’s meeting with Barcelona and the chance to play against Lionel Messi.
The Brazilian, who is expected to line up for the French this midweek in the Champions League quarter-final first leg, is highly respectful of PSG’s opponents.
“I’ve always followed Barcelona’s matches, they have great players, a team that offers the best football today and they have the best player in the world,” €43m signing Moura told Mundo Deportivo today.
“After learning that we would be facing them I have watched their games more closely. Every game has a story, most importantly against Barca we will be very focused and I will give my all.
“Messi is a genius, that says it all. I’m a big fan of his. He’s the best player in the world today and one of the best I have seen play.
“It is also true that to reach his level of achievement he has teammates of high quality by his side. They have a very solid defence and destabilising players in midfield such as Xavi, Iniesta and Dani Alves, who is inexhaustible.
“They are all great players, Barcelona has a team full of great players.
“Their injuries? There is no perfect team, each has its shortcomings and our Coach Ancelotti will give us all the information and guidance that we need.”
