‘Mou & I have a great relationship’

Galatasaray midfielder Hamit Altintop has revealed that he has a great relationship with Jose Mourinho.

The 30-year-old played under the Portuguese Coach last season at Real Madrid, but failed to make an impact at Santiago Bernabeu.

The Turkey international managed just 12 games for Los Blancos, but he has conceded that he has fond memories of his time in Spain.

“Mourinho is a great Coach,” he told Marca. “He is a person who knows a lot about football.

“He handles relationships in the dressing room very well. He knows when to be near a player and when to walk away.

“Mourinho is a Coach who becomes a friend and a brother to all his players.

“I have no bad feelings towards the club. The only things I have to say about Real Madrid are positive.”

Altintop then went on to comment on his side's Champions League clash with Los Merengues next month.

“We will come out and attack Madrid. [Coach] Fatih Terim always says that a good attack is the best defence.

“I expect a good, open game. There will be plenty of chances. If we score and get a good result in Madrid, then who knows what will happen.”
