Ancelotti: Motta almost ruled out

Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Thiago Motta is 'almost ruled out' of their Champions League clash with Barcelona.

The Ligue 1 club host Tito Vilanova's side in the quarter-finals of the competition on Tuesday April 2.

But the Italian Coach has claimed that the 30-year-old is likely to miss the match with his former club.

“Last Friday we conducted a few tests on his calf,” Ancelotti told a Press conference. “He then worked with the team on Monday and was fine.

“However, he now has problems with his right hamstring and is almost ruled out.”

The former Chelsea boss then commented on the approach his team will take against the Blaugrana – dismissing similarities between France's tactics in their loss with Spain.

“Spain are not Barcelona. The games will be different.

“We have four days to prepare for the match and that is sufficient. We are not Real Madrid, so we will not use the same strategy as them.”
