Zaragoza back Jimenez

Real Zaragoza President Fernando Molinos has asserted that the club remain confident in Coach Manolo Jimenez’ ability to reverse their current situation.

The Aragonese have slipped down the League table to just two points and a place above the relegation zone after a run of 11 consecutive games without a win.

Whilst compounded on Sunday by a 4-0 thrashing at Sevilla, the board have stated their intention to stick with Coach Jimenez.

“Jimenez, as we all know, did a great job last season and also started this season very well and is open in the way that he works, which transmits to the players, who have trust in him,” President Molinos told reporters after the defeat in Seville.

“All information that has come to us from the dressing room and the technical staff tells us that there is full confidence in the Coach. This is also what we have assessed.

“Relegation? In football, you cannot know what will happen. I will not talk about going down to La Segunda because that has not come into my head.

“We are speaking of a hypothesis and even more so after a defeat. It does not make any less unhappy.”
