Chelsea have placed a €20m price tag on the head of young goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, as links with a permanent move to Atletico Madrid persist.
The youngster has spent the last two seasons on loan at the Vicente Calderon and, since impressing, is seen as the subject of talks between Atleti and Chelsea over his future for next season.
The Madrid outfit were reported last week as close to agreeing to keep the 21-year-old, who has yet to play for Chelsea since a summer 2011 move from Genk, on loan for a third consecutive season.
However, The Daily Star suggest that they are still pushing for a permanent deal to sign the Belgian.
The British publication report that The Blues have answered their initial enquiry with a €20m – £17m – asking price, which the Spanish are unlikely to be able to afford.
