Nuri Sahin has warned his Borussia Dortmund colleagues not to underestimate Champions League quarter-final opponents Malaga.
The Bundesliga outfit have been paired with the competition debutants in the final eight in today’s draw.
“We were worried about Porto but they were knocked out by Malaga,” reflected Real Madrid’s Sahin, who is currently back on loan back at Dortmund.
“I know them from my days at Real Madrid. They played very well against us when I was in Spain. We should definitely not underestimate Malaga."
The Turkish midfielder also reflected on his parent club’s pairing with Galatasaray.
“Madrid are one of the favourites for the Champions League. But Galatasaray showed they can prepare for big games very well.
“I believe Galatasaray have a slight chance to advance. I think it’s a positive thing to play the first leg away.
“A draw without conceding a goal or a draw with lot of goals can open the way for Galatasaray to get a good result in the second leg at home, in front of their own fans.”
