Saviola: History could be made

Malaga striker Javier Saviola has admitted that history could be made if the club progress to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The Andalusian club face Porto in the second leg of their last 16 encounter tomorrow, and go into the match trailing 1-0.

But the Argentine striker has claimed that his side have what it takes to make the last eight for the first ever time.

“There are high expectations around this match,” he told AS. “It is a game that will make history.

“We will try to go on the attack and bring joy to the supporters. It would be hugely important for us to make the quarters.

“We'll leave everything we have on the field.

“We know we'll face a great team, a physically strong team, but we have proven we can beat any opponent.”
