Bale contract to deter Madrid?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering doubling Gareth Bale’s salary in an attempt to fend of continued interested from Real Madrid.

The Welsh winger has been linked over the course of the last two seasons with moves to the likes of Madrid, Barcelona, Inter, Milan and Bayern Munich.

With Los Blancos again reportedly eyeing a move for the 23-year-old this coming summer, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is apparently considering handing the player an £8m-a-year contract until June 2018.

That would double Bale’s current earnings of £75,000 a week, which was part of a contract signed just last year.
