Tino Costa: We have to be confident

Tino Costa has urged his Valencia teammates to face Paris Saint-Germain with the confidence and belief in their own abilities.

Los Che are in Paris for the second leg of this Champions League Last 16 clash on Wednesday, 2-1 down from the first leg, so needing to score at least twice to hold hopes of progression.

“We all know the importance of the match, it is the Champions League, the Last 16, it is a very important game, very difficult also, but the comeback is possible if we show ourselves and we go into it confident,” Costa told reporters at the airport as he and his Valencia teammates travelled out to France.

“We have to be confident, go out there believing in our potential, aware that if we really want to progress, we have to think beyond our opponent and on what we can do.

“The game will be similar to what happened in the first leg, they can go a little more in attack because they are at home, they are very strong on the break and I do not think they will change their style of play.

“They have players who have been here before and who are at a high level. They can replace [the suspended] Zlatan Ibrahimovic.”
