Valencia travel to France to face Paris Saint-Germain this week without their first-choice centre-back pairing of Adil Rami and Ricardo Costa.
Rami was not expected to make the trip for this week’s Champions League Last 16 second leg, after suffering a small tear in one of his hamstrings in mid-February.
The club had hoped to have Costa back, however, after he suffered a more mild strain in his hamstring during Week 25’s League meeting with Real Zaragoza.
However, a fitness test carried out after today’s training session has ruled that the 31-year-old is not yet recovered enough to play any part this Wednesday.
Ernesto Valverde fielded left-back Jeremy Mathieu at centre-back alongside Victor Ruiz in the weekend derby with Levante.
