Cech calls for Mourinho return

Petr Cech has reflected that Real Madrid Coach Jose Mourinho would be welcome back to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea manager this summer.

Mourinho left The Blues in 2007 after a falling out with owner Roman Abramovich, but has been increasingly linked with a return this summer, as speculation over his impending departure from Real Madrid also remains.

With Rafa Benitez confirming that he will not be staying on with the London club beyond this summer, Cech admitted that Mourinho would be an ideal candidate to come back.

“We had a fantastic success with him, so why not? He is a fantastic manager,” the ‘keeper told reporters this weekend.

“Of course the fans sing his name. Jose Mourinho did a fantastic job for the club and people loved him, so he rightly deserved that.

“This is the way it should be, the fans should pay their respect for the players and the ex-players who come here to the Bridge.

“Whoever comes to take the job, I hope he will have better luck and that he will stay. I have been saying that for six years.

“I hope the new manager will find the momentum and he will stay.”
