Juan Ignacio Martinez praised his team for earning a deserved second leg and overall win over Olympiacos on Thursday evening.
Los Granotes ran out 1-0 winners on the night at the Karaiskakis Stadium and 4-0 on aggregate thanks to Obafemi Martins’ early strike.
“Both there and here we have had very good games against Olympiacos, who should not be underestimated,” reflected Coach Martinez in reflection.
“This victory was to the credit of Levante. We were lucky to score so soon. It has allowed us to survive against a difficult Greek opponent, whilst our opponent then played a little nervous.
“We have a very competitive workforce. Rubin Kazan will be complicated.
“But, we will not mislead anyone because our daily bread is the League and we have to secure survival in it for another year as soon as we can.”
