Strong Barca XI at Milan

Barcelona are expected to name their strongest possible starting XI against Milan in the first leg of their Champions League Last 16 clash tonight.

Reports have it that Dani Alves and 10 players to have worked in the club’s youth academy will start at San Siro.

Xavi Hernandez is expected to rejoin the midfield selection after two weeks out with a hamstring. Andres Iniesta will start in attack alongside Pedro Rodriguez and Lionel Messi.

Milan, meanwhile, are without star striker Mario Balotelli, as he is cup-tied, having played in the competition previously this year for Manchester City.

Milan (4-3-3): Abbiati; Abate, Mexes, Zapata, Constant; Montolivo, Ambrosini, Muntari; Boateng, Pazzini, El Shaarawy.

Substitutes: Amelia, Yepes, De Sciglio, Cristante, Traoré, Bojan, Niang.

Barcelona (4-3-3): Valdes; Dani Alves, Piqué, Puyol, Jordi Alba; Xavi, Busquets, Fabregas; Pedro, Messi, Iniesta.
