Ancelotti ‘yes’ to Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti is believed to have reached a verbal agreement with Real Madrid to become their Coach for next season.

The Italian’s future at Paris Saint-Germain has been in doubt this term, despite their lead in Ligue 1 and their comfort in reaching the Last 16 of the Champions League.

In light of similar reports surrounding Jose Mourinho’s tenure at the Santiago Bernabeu coming to an end in the summer, Ancelotti has on more than one occasion been paired with a possible move to the Spanish in his place.

Le Parisien today believe that those reports are not wide of the mark, alleging that the former Juventus and Milan boss has already held provisional talks with Madrid and has reached a verbal agreement to come in next summer.

It is believed that both Liverpool and Manchester City contact the 53-year-old in December last year about his possible availability in the summer, only for Ancelotti to turn them down, out of preference for Los Blancos.

Ancelotti is one of 17 Coaches in the game’s history to have won the European Cup on two occasions.
