Bojan: Don’t lose by more than two

Bojan Krkic has again looked ahead to facing his parent club Barcelona with his current side Milan and reflected on what would be a good result.

Milan host the Catalans this Wednesday at San Siro for the first leg of their Champions League Last 16 clash.

Bojan is in the second of a two-year spell on loan in Italy, and after Roma last term, could line up against his old teammates tomorrow in the colours of the Rossoneri.

“It is a difficult game. We play against the best team in the world with a team of the most important players in the world. It will be special,” reflected the 22-year-old in conversation with AS pre-match this week.

“Will I celebrate if I score? Yes of course. Although if I score one in the Camp Nou I will see at the time. I do not know how I will react.

“It is true that I am with Milan and I know. So, I have not said from the outset that I will not celebrate.

“A good result? Winning, obviously, but it would be nice to stay alive. Just, do not lose by more than two goals.”

The youngster was asked of his experience so far with Milan, where he has struggled for continuity in playing time.

“I’ve very happy. Many of the things I feel positive for. I arrived here in the final stretch of the summer transfer market, but I quickly realised the history of Milan. It’s exciting.

“The veteran players left and the club made a commitment to youth. The idea is that over time the results arrive.

“My lack of playing time? I am a victim of being on loan. The Milan players who have cost millions to sign are those who should start.

“This is normal. For that reason, for next season my intention is that wherever I am, I will not be there on loan.

“Back to Barca? If it is possible then yes, of course. I left for two years and after the adventure in Rome I am now here. We will see what happens. There are still many things that must happen.”

The striker was asked who his references growing up where and curiously he picked two players who represented both Barca and Milan.

“My first reference for Kluivert. He did spectacular things. After Ronaldinho appeared he changed life and put a permanents smile on the faces at Barca.

“My mother, for example, was purposefully going to the stadium to see him in action. It was a treat. Ronnie was the one that truly started it all.”

Bojan had also spoken to Italian reporters after training yesterday evening.

“It’s a different game and is very special for me. I’ve never played against Barca and that to me is more than a game, but right now I am thinking only about helping my team. That is all I want to do.

“Milan are gaining confidence and we will try to win the game working well and aware that we are in the knockout stages of the Champions League against Barcelona, in the middle of a great event.

“This is a confrontation that is not a three-point game. It is 180 minutes where goals will be very important.

“Scoring is essential, whilst so too is not conceding. We stand together during the 180 minutes against Barcelona ahead.

“I do not want to think about how I will feel, only on what happens on the field.”
